What's Happening at the Arc of Frederick County
Creative expression opens doors to confidence, connection, and conversation! The Arc is grateful for our partnership with Delaplaine Arts Center where there are no limits to how people can share their unique voices! We value the opportunity to create inclusive experiences where artists can explore, express, and enjoy the freedom of being creative!
The Arc values the joy that third spaces offer to everyone in our community. Arc Support Coordinators partner with families and individuals to organize teams of Director Support Professionals so each person receives individualized assistance to be a part of the vibrant and unique Frederick community where people live, work, and thrive while enjoying a strong sense of place and belonging. We appreciate that this vision is a goal of our local elected officials and can be lived out in the day-to-day services The Arc provides.
Cultivating future leaders, The Arc is grateful to have the support of the YMCA of Frederick County and United Way of Frederick County Summer Serve students to host activities for people we serve. These teens have grown up in a world of inclusion where they have attended school, extracurricular activities, places of worship, playgrounds, and other spaces side-by-side with students with disabilities. As friendships have blossomed, it is these young minds who will carry inclusion into adulthood and further respect for diveristy. We thank The Summer Serve students for their passion for community!
